An X50 is built to run the air volume of K16s, not K24s. So what will happen is less air from the K16s will cause a surge in fuel when they ht boost. Since the CFM is less with a K16 the system wouldn't know know that and assumes that a K24 is in place. It in turn moves more CFM or volume and would require more fuel.

Some gain would naturally happen. Just not what you would expect.

Approx how many hp gain would happen and how much loss in MPG do you think would result?

So, would the very least upgrade necessary to take advantage of this X50 mapping is to upgrade to K24 turbos? Would I need to upgrade anything else with that X50 cpu?

I don't really know. I suspect not good on either account.

Yes, K24s and you are set! Exhaust helps as well so consider this as well.

Thanks PorschePhd! Looks like I'm in the market for a set of K24s...the exhaust is already taken care of. I just put an EP on and it sounds great! In fact, the Porsche tech said that running a little rich on heavy throttle is not too bad a situation, though I will not get the max hp that I would want with the X50 mapping until I change the turbos. I figure, if it's not going to hurt, it might just help so I'm going with the X50 cpu...
