I searched all over town today for some Mobil 1 0-40 or 5-40 and nowhere had it. Do you guys mostly order this online, or is it no big deal and it's ok to use something more common like 10-40? I'm in Texas if it matters.

 

My local Porsche Dealer has it (yours should have it too), I was just there yesterday, and the bucket said 0-40 on it

 

Gas Stations don't carry it the dealerships sell 6 packs

Forget about the dealer...Their prices suck, not surprisingly...

I think technically speaking the recommended temperature range for 0-40 oil is roughly -25 degrees to about 105 degrees. Well here in Texas it often gets hotter than 105 in the summer. Should I go with 5-50 or 10-50 instead? I think 50 covers up to about 125 degrees supposedly. Or does it really not matter?

 

I buy it at Checker auto parts.

 

Believe it or not, one of my local Walmart carries it.

I've found 0w40 at superWalmart and Autozone. The older smaller Walmarts usually don't carry it. Target had 15w50, 10w30, and 5w30 Mobil1 for $3.39. The more readily available Castrol 5w50 might be better in Texas.

 

Autozone or WalMart, nice prices.

 

Walmart has it in the big 1 gallon bottle for like 15-17 dollars. If you can find it.
