Shifting techniques

I was curious as to how/when you shift for normal day-to-day driving and for lets say...spirited driving.

I ask this b/c I've been driving a AP1 Honda S2000 for the past 2 years and which has that 9K redline

Im nice to it in first gear but after that

Would it be possible to launch a TT in 2nd gear? 1st gear's all torque so I ve been trying to find a way to get to that boost sooner. I'm pretty sure it doesnt work after a few experimental attempts Especially not on a stock one.
