Need advice: Dinan S2 M5 or Sayenne TT
Edit: CayenneTT
I post in this section most frequently and need some advice from my GT2 brethren:
My wife is 5 months preggo and I need a more family friendly vehicle. My choices are between two cars listed in the FS section of 6 speed. One is a Dinan modified S2 2001 M5 w/ 34K. It is an incredibly beautiful car in splendid shape. I have bargained the price down to 44K.
The other choice is a late year 2005 Cayenne TT that is stock w/ factory upgrades. The milleage is 27.5K and I have bargained the price down to 53K. It is also in very good shape.
I have driven a CTT and I know that I will enjoy driving the M5 much more. But on the other hand the CTT is much, much more practical as a family vehicle and I can mod it for another 80 hp quite easily. And of course I have my GT2 and a not slow G35.
Your opinions would be highly valued as I am about to pull the trigger. I am leaning towards practicality (the CTT).

Sean well IMO i will always go for the sportier vehicle, SUV's are cool and i would love one, but i rather have my coupe and sedan and choose an M5 over CTT if given the choice!
ALTHOUGH the Cayenne will be more comfy/newer/quieter, hard decision!

Congrats on the baby
But I think I have to chime in my vote for the M5. The consensus seems to be that it's more practical than the CTT, but is it really? The M5 has a large interior and a large trunk. Yes, the CTT can do a Home Depot run, but unless you're the kind of person who *does* HD runs, does that matter?
Drive what you enjoy - don't let a few extra feet of cargo space scare you away from what you really want! Unles you really need it, of course
acs-3:CTTs are continuing to drop like crazy. Not only are they in the 50's, they can be had lower, and personally, I'm inclined to believe they have plenty of room to fall...

The biggest problem with the M5 (we owned a 540 of the same generation) is that the rear doors are oddly shaped and you have to do some back contortions to get a child strapped in.
Trust me.......your wife will HATE you for it EVERY time.....I know mine did

I mean...I love the M5...but if the wife needs to be able to drive the "practical" car, then the CTT seems to be where its at...
BUT...if she doesnt...m5 all the way!

Update on my buying decision process...my wife and I concuded that the M5 wasn't practicle enough...
My GT2 was dinged this weekend and I had to take her to the dealership to be repaired (one of the best paint guys in town works there).
While I was there, my wife and I looked at the Cayenne TT's even though I am/was pretty much set on buying a late year (alcantara headliner) 2004 (sorry, I mistated earlier that it was a 2004) CTT w/ 27.5K miles for 53K.
The sales manager had a loaded 2005 in exactly the colors I wanted that had never been titled. It has only 102 miles on it. Its retail was 98K but he was willing to sell it for 79K and CPO (for a total of 5 years and eight months/60K miles) for an extra 1.9K. It would also include the tire package.
80K is really more than I can afford. However, is this CTT a better deal than the 2004 for 53K
Thanks.

I'd post the picture of her all opened up and ripped apart at the Audi dealer but I doubt you'd keep it together.
Jitsu... The CTT is definately a more practical car. Just make sure your wife's foot weighs under 5oz.
