Exclamation HELP>>>>What would make fuel lines clog?????

As some of you know last Saturday my car stopped running. It went to the dealer they gave me some BS about mods on the car. Wanted to void the warranty, but found that the engine was getting no fuel. So fixing under warranty.

NOW they have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and found that the engine is still NOT getting fuel. They have started to take the fuel lines off and blow air through the lines. A black type of gunk was all clogged in the fuel filter and is coming out of the lines. The dealer said the next step is to remove the "radiator" for the fuel system that cools the fuel down and clean that out.

Has this happened to anyone else on the board OR can someone pry open the gas tank lid and pour something in the tank while the car is locked and I would not know?

THANKS,
ROB

I am going to take a guess, it really sounds like someone put sugar in your tank.

That is what I thought. A few weeks ago I was out and some A-Hole spit on my windshield. Now when the shop called and said that there is black gunk in the filter and the lines, I thought sugar too, but the gas door lid locks when the car is locked. The dealer looked at the gas door lock and said no one tampered with it and it works properly.

I am justed stumped on this one

THANKS!!!

I may be headed down your path...my car goes in Monday for the same symptoms (no fuel getting to engine)...I guess I'm in for the third fuel pump.

If you do not drive the car often is sounds like the gas is turning to gel in the lines.

I've read about some fuel additives dissolving the nylon screen on the fuel pump intake on some cars. However I'd guess it was crud foom the bottom of a gas station's tank.
