Ask your ins. rep. to classify your vehicle as a recreational vehicle. My turbo is about 1200/yr to insure with Farmer's.

but don't forget, it's not about the rate you're paying, it's about how much and how fast your insurance gives you when u need them!

I have Farmers Insurance and pay $2600/yr for a 2002 996TT (pleasure), 2006 Jeep SRT8, and a Lexus IS350. Coverage is 250,000/500,000...

LOL, I was originally quoted here by Porsche Insurance at 9,600 GBP per year! Shopped around and got it down to 1,800 GBP through Chubb. Good policy, I imagine in the US it would be even less...

I have AllState, no tickets and no accidents: $4800 per year. That is covering my 996tt, BMW X5, BMW 330ci convert, and my 16 year old son's '07 Scion Tc
BTW: my kid's scion fees are twice the amount of my turbo! teenagers.

Look in your yellow pages for ANPAC American Property and Causulty Co
see if their is an agent in your area. They have a program called
C.H.R.O.M.E. just for guys like us. The acronym stands for Classic,
Hot rod, Replica, not sure of the O & M but the E stands for Exotic.
The 996TT qualifies for the Exotic. I have 90K replacement on my modded
01' 250/500 liability for $310 every six months. The only kicker is a 5%
deductible = $4500. But if the car were stolen or totaled I would receive
$85,500. Which is alot more than most insurance Co would pay for a 01'
Most would pay market value and pennies on the dollar for the mods.
Maybe in the neighbor hood of $60K-$65K. Also, if there are no claims for 36months they will refund 25% back each year...including home owners
and other vehicles insured. Worth checking out. I have been with them
for 4yrs+. LOL
