How do you 800 plus RWD tt's get traction?
My measley 700 hp AWD tt was spinning all four tires through first and second tonight with PSM off. How do you guys with RWD and 800 to 1000 hp get the power to the ground?

Do you still spin the DR's and R compound's on the street? Obviously Vipers and Supras run even more power but they have progressive boost systems. Can that be done on a tt?

There is no way to harness 800+ rwhp with a street car. Progressive boost and traction control just mean you're putting down less than 800+ whp.
There are no DRs or R compund tyres that will keep traction in a 996TT with 800+ rwhp.

DR's are quite sticky. There are guys that have run 7's and 8's with them. The record on DR's is 7.4 @ 197 mph. Wiith the rear-weight bias, I don't think any of the big power TT's that are currently on the streets will spin DR's enough to need a progressive system. AWD or RWD. Sticky R-compounds (Nittos and Toyos) are almost just as good in a straight line, but they handle far better since they are a true roadcourse tire.
But I'll be able to tell you for sure in about 2 weeks, since I'll be using DR's at the track (not slicks), and R-Compounds on the street.

Congratulations to Jason Ardron for breaking the 200mph barrier in his beautiful drag radial mustang. After some tuning by Steve Petty, Jason got the car to run a 7.49@201mph!
Congratulations to Michael Saponara of J&J Performance for getting his drag radial car running better than ever. Michael runs a Pro Line Racing 427ci built engine with a pair of twin Precision PT-88mm turbos.
After making some test passes, Michael got his car to run a new best of 7.68@185.95mph! Not only did he run that fast, but he did it weighing in at a heavy 3520lbs!
How about these numbers:
1.27 - 60 ft.
3.37 - 330 ft.
5.02 - 660 ft. @ 150.35mph
7.68 - 1320 ft. @ 185.95mph

What are you using Markski DR's or R compound? I am just on Continental street rubber, probably being 30 degrees outside causes a loss of traction as well as extra power.

As long as you are not trying to launch the car to get absolute best E.T. these cars will have no problem on the street at 40-50mph and then rolling on the throttle....think 60-130 with dr's and rwd.......and you can do it without dr's and awd.Trying to launch the car at like 4000rpm's or higher on the street would be a different story.
