Yamaha R1 Kill!

Came upon a Crotch Rocket at a light ahead of me, downshifted into second. The light turned green and he took off, I hit it and he pulled me a little bit in second, shifted to third and we were 1 car apart, then fourth and I began to pull him in and then passed him! Once I passed him I looked down and saw 160 mph and shut it down.

We ended up at the next light and he gave me a big thumbs up and said "Sweet car". I could see it was a Yamaha R1 and I asked him how many cc's and he said 1000!

I was suprised how well I did against the mighty 1 liter bike!

This all happened on a quick trip to Mexico! I love Mexico in the Spring!

For liter bikes they usually lose steam around 160mph, if you were to encounter me and my six hundred you'd probably over take me aroudn 140mph or so.

Yes he was quite suprised. I find most of the bikes are very willing to run and make some of the better opponents. I usually don't run into any cars worth having a go with.

I have raced 600's and pass them way before 140 mph. I raced one from a stop and had him from the green light and put many car lengths on him.

Nice job Buddy, giving us americanos a bad name in Mexico!

GT700 type power sounds like about what someone needs to run with
a liter bike (from 60 on up!)

Not quite, most 600's first gear is around ~78mph/81mph depending on model, so being at 60mph I'd personally be around 11k-12krpm if I remember correctly and at that rpm I'm definately taking off like a bat out of hell, six hundred or not, I think a good speed a GT700 type car would take off is anything above 75mph, because I've had occasions where I'd race friends and I'd still drop it down into first to get the jump.

To add on, most of the liter bikes have a first gear that extends to 100mph, so they'd definately take off hard from that speed, although they also have approximately sixty crank horsepower more as well.
