since you change to K24s make sure you do so with the upgraded waste gate kit.

I know the only look little but they do make a big difference. Otherwise the stock ones don't seem to handle/hold anything beyond 1bar very well.

So, what I'm reading is that we could go to the K24s with the addition of the turbo's, wastegates and program. Is the turbo and wastegate kit a DIY and then of course the ECU upgrade from a shop such as yours?

What about the K16/24 hybrid - is this the same scenario?

Hi Rich,

Absolutely... the waste gates should be used on any K24 upgrade. You already have the stage II software so it would be a reflash/upgrade (which I'm actually doing to a black TT today in for just that stage II-IV).

I have a set of k24's I think they lag terribly. I just got my k16/k24 Zc UMW units on and all I can say is wow! Why in the world did these cars not come like this!

I am glad you are happy with k24's though. I have a set for sale $1500 shipped w/15k miles on them.

Some guys don't mind lag I hate it. I do agree though the k24 and hbid k16's don't have the room to make huge power below 1.3psi. I would like a tad more power and a little quicker spool, but this is the best turbo setup I have ever owned. Maybe I should just regear my car

Yeah, everybody calls them upgraded wastegates when it is the actuators that are modified.

aye.. stiffer springs etc... and just better able to hold that added boost. Nothing fancy but they work But yes it is the actuators

I just got mine on (WG springs) and I must admit SOP dyno says wow. Holding 1.2 w/occasional 1.3 spikes...yikes. The midrange torque is impressive.
