Hell yea!! How does it sound with the secondary cat removed? Great work on the tips too! LOL that's a lot of work there on stock exhaust!

Loud

Yep, it's loud. Definitely too much for me. I do like being able to hear the turbos spool but the drone is serious. There is some much needed relief centering around 3000 rpm but much above or below it comes back strong. I'll try to get a drive by soon, then the stocker goes back on. I know we've spent a bunch of time, it was an interesting experiment.

videos

Couple of videos of the final version of the exhaust seen above. It will be coming off the car in the next couple of days. We want to try something else.

Thanks for sharing all of your progress. IMO, that sounds pretty amazing.
Was the drone unbearable, or are you of the mindset that any drone = too much drone?
I've had some exhausts on cars that had "excessive noise" on the freeway, but never had that resonant, booming, headache-inducing drone. That didn't bother me at all, but if it was the latter, it definitely would have.

Drone

It's pretty strong. I know everyone wants the elusive exhaust that sound great, makes good power and doesn't drone. This one drones. I took one of our techs for a ride in it this morning to take the videos and he was surprised at how loud the drone was. I would really like to ride in some other cars with aftermarket exhaust too see what they sound like. Any one in the Atlanta that wants to volunteer, let me know.

Bummer...

Any chance of taking a video inside before you take off the exhaust?
I know it won't be a perfect representation of what you're hearing, but at least it would give us an idea.

I started midifying my exhaust with a 3/4" hole in either side and it seemed to add a bit more volume but no where where I would like.

I then added a softronics tune and thought that loosing the cats would be beneficial. I started in on removal thinking I would pound them out only to find out they are metallic, not ceramic

I got the ones closest to the turbo after many hours and was going to leave it at that until I saw that I had damaged the larger cats (a few large dents) while removing the smaller ones.

With no other option I marked and cut off the exhaust and have removed one of the larger ones 3ish hours with an air chisel and now I'm on to the second. I will likely finish this tomorrow and cut some larger holes in the exhaust too, probably 1 1/4"-1 1/2".

A few photos below.

A couple more and as you can see the second cat is not only very wide but it is incredibly deep.

If I don't pick up a substantial amount of HP I will be very surprised

Cool man. Are you planning on a running a baffle or leave the open cat housing with the remaining stock exhaust?

I'm going to leave the baffle and everything else stock. I was looking for more power and about 50% more volume.

Hopefully this will do the trick.

I've done this to my stock exhaust, its ok but I needed much more.

I have had my Kline exhaust now for over 2 years and I never get tired of it, the sound is just incredible.

I have had several exhausts and started with a modified stock.
All I can say is I keep going back to the Milltek..To me the best balance , not to loud, and no drone With excellent power in my 625 rear wheel set-up.
