My Kline is fabulous, in the past 6 or so months it has become much louder in a positive way.

the cool thing is you did it yourself and it cost ya nothing to try. rep pts for that!
my modded stockers takin up space in the garage lol.
jim if the kline gets any louder now? i'm right at the limit of where folks look at you while parking etc. ( not necessary lol )

If it does, just put the cats back in. But then again you'll be sacrificing the extra HP you say that you have gained.

996 S4 Exhaust MOD
Hi, i know this post has been going on for years but I'm wondering if anyone knows if the same mod (drilling into mufflers) works for non TT cars? Seems like the entire discussion has been a turbo mod discussion? thanks for helping a newbie!

Negative- this is a Turbo muffler mod only. There are other hacks for non turbo mufflers however. I think it something like gundo-hack or something like that.

I know im kinda late to this DIY mod, but having completed it today I feel like I can contribute here.. this thread has a name, now it has a face.... here is my selfie with the two pucks I cut out today with a few 2" holes saws on my face. only ran the car for a minute on the jackstands & the improved idle sound is promising... will drive it in anger some tomorrow...

Hello everyone, I am going to make this modification in my 996 TT, but I want to know which is the best hole diameter: 1 "1/3 - 1" 1/2 - 2 "... to get the best sound without losing that increase of 10-15 hp and 20-30 nm torque.
Thank you
Thank you

Yes, I'm advising against it. Search ebay, there's cheap exhaust out there. Even those china made pipes are better than this idea. But if you must, use a stepped bit. That has all the size you need.
