How To Detail My Car ???
I have a black TT. I am new to detailing and waxing and anything to do with washing my car...
I'm bringing my car for someone to work on. What products should I give him to use ?
Microfiber cloth, Zaino wax etc. ?????

I use the Zaino products and althought there are many steps to their process it works great. I use Z-5 for light scratches/swirl marks then Z-2 (couple coats) then once in a while Z-8. I'm very happy with their stuff.

ramone,
It is not the products as much as the process and his level/experience. No compounds alone will get out all the scratches. If he knows what he's doing, he can use 2500 grit wet sand paper and you can get out every surface scratch out make the black look mirrored and wet. A variable speed buffer is a plus as well with a black foam pad! If you really want to get crazy bring him the touch-up and he can thin it and layer it on the rock chips, then wet sand and you'll never be able to tell where they were!
Good Luck!

if youve got a black car then the first thing you must buy is a grit guard for your bucket. get some Hd clense, and some decent polish id go for something like a glaze so speed glaze is my fav and then a good wax like p21s or pinnacle souveran.

Buy a porter cable Dual Action Polisher
Clay bar of your choice
Good soap of your choice
Schmitt or other high quality wash mitt
Bucket with a grit guard
optimum polish (with a grey pad will keep your car looking like new)
wax of your choice (I like p21s or sovereign)
Get a good sealant (zaino lasts a long time)
Lots of new microfiber towels
Dont be fooled in to thinking you have to buy everything of the same brand because you dont.

Mezerna FMJ is hands-down the best I've used on a black car.

black cars require MASSIVE amounts of work to keep pristine. when they are pristine, they are by far the best looking cars out there. the problem is they show EVERY flaw. nothing like walking out to your garage and seeing little white specks in the front from relatively innocent hwy pebbles been there done that and just don't have time for it anymore - on to white & silver
that being said, i echo everybody's thoughts mentioned above. the products, no matter how expensive, are only as good as the detailer. if you have the time, learn how to do it yourself, including the random orbital buffer with polish & glaze, clay barring and proper sudsing/washing with a good wax to seal it all in. i bought 95% of my products from properautocare.com and have been very happy with them through the years. the more you read, the better off you'll be
IF you find a good detailer, KEEP HIM and you will enjoy your car ten-fold
GOOD LUCK!!! you're gonna need it
