too much too much i followed this one on my vacation thru europe! it's actually ironic cause i wanted to rent a GT2 and take it out on the autobahn but my friends over there got the dates confused and met on the last night

i've always respected porsches and use to say porsche by 30, ferrari by 40, well i bought an old C4 vette and am happy with it. i will admit i do go hunting for porsches, MB SL55's ect ect and finally got my first newer carrera 4 kill and the guy looked pissed

all i'm saying is it's nice to know what the other guys car has atleast on a stock base but can't we all get along? you guys might hit up Force's site to ask questions about the performance of a Vette.

BTW stock for stock Z06 Vs. GT2 would be a damn good match in the twisties. most C5 owners don't run their car to the performance level that the vette can tolerate. some will so please don't judge any vettes twisties performance cause we all seen what a C5 did at leman and daytona not only once but a few times.

cheers!

a stock Z06 vs. GT2 in the twisties? You have got to be kidding.

you obviously haven't driven a GT2.

I don't believe I am about to do this ... but ... I have to agree with Hamann7. Stock for stock a GT2 would beat a Z06.

maybe so but now i guess your talking professional drivers in each? stock for stock with non professional drivers would be an interesting and most likely a pretty close race i would think but then again i'll probably just get flamed over making a statement. but i will say this i have a very good friend that is an instructor at http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/ that personally has a 95 non turboed 911 that races it there and has driven new 911's of all versions there and we've talked about how they drive and i was told by a professional instructor (my friend) that the 911 is a handful due to the fact of the rear engine rear drive setup but now the newer ones are getting better for an average driver but in the hands of a professional they can be very deadly in the turns.

so tell me have you took your GT2 to the brink of it's performance and can you maintain that level for any length of time? i am just curious as i do not have much seat time in a Z06 but know that thing can handle and weight to power ratio is very strong. in my C4 i've put her on the brink many times on country roads having fun and will take it to the road course track this year.

i guess everyone can argue straight line vs twisty stuff all they want but for me, because i am not rich, can't rent a track for 2 people and 20 laps to grudge race but can spend my 20 bucks at a drag strip or have a nice friendly straight line run on the interstate while driving home from dinner or visiting friends ect.

Hey moderators, why don't you guys delete a thread like this one when it starts to take a "stupid" direction? Apparently, it's OK for people who don't know each other to argue and call names.

good point! when it's plain fun among friends on this board it becomes "deletable"-but if it's among complete strangers it remains. hey, Darren -make a move here buddy...

I don't think that warranted a smart *** comment like "Tell me after the race how that GT2 emblem on the trunk looks.".
I agree with this 100%

No Mercy,

What is this world coming to?

Hey, obviously you are getting rid of your modded Vette, so I guess that says something! No matter how fast that thing was, I'd really like to see you say with a straight face you'd rather have a Vette than your Porsche!

We may have more in common than you think. We both have M5's. We both wager on football too, remember? And now you are a Porsche owner as well.
