Cool New to the Forum and have a question about GT2's

Hello,

I've visited your friendly forum before but never really had a reason to post... now I do!

A friend of mine wants to set me up with a friendly race against his uncles GT2. I'm curious about the stock performance #'s as well as how much the hp increases with a few simple mods?

I'm trying to figure out what tires to run and how to run him.. (i.e. ET Streets froma dead stop or BFG drag radials from a roll)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if you can't do it at Nurbergring, find a long windy mountain road, and you'll buy a GT2 for your self. they are not for drag racing

They push out about 450HP, their Real wheel drive instead of the AWD which is the regular twin turbo.

They run 0-60 in under 4 seconds, I forget the quarter mile time on them.

They handle extremely well because of the RWD.

Please film that race

Thanks for the info!

Just curious how much they weigh? Are they easy to mod?

If I get it on tape (and that's the idea), I'll definately post it..

If he's stock tho, I dont think it will be much of a race..

Hopefully he's had some work done!

They are far from you in being on the south shore of LI and east. They have many, many Vettes there including a Callaway, TT Z06 and sooooo many other things. If you are up for a drive, they start to gather at about 8am Sunday and there are a hundred plus cars by 9:30.

Sounds awesome! And it sounds like my car would be one of the slower vettes there!

Is it just a hangout or is there a place to race as well?

A number of the cars run along a fairly deserted highway. From now until Memorial Day is the time to go and you won't be dissapointed.

They have been known to run 11.9's before, but the highway is where they shine. Also they are very easy to mod as they are a turbo'd motor. W/ just ECU upgrades 50-80HP is very possible usually w/ more lb ft being put down also. I've driven a few blown vettes and they pull real hard, this should be a good race. What blower are you running? What are you putting down, etc.

A race in your favor: Dead stop with you on slicks.

A race in his favor: From a 50mph or so roll on up.

Driving skill aside, looks like you have the edge (I'm assuming you have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500rwhp with the blower), just make sure there aren't any turns and you can probably beat him.

I have a better idea. How about YOU step up to the plate and tell me what my license plate frame says?
