C'mon, support your local dealership! Isn't it a tax deduction?

Whoa! I know most independent and race shops around here charge $85 to $100 an hour for labor, but that dealer is just plain raping you. I do everything I can to save me money.

It should only take a few minutes too. They would really have to drag their feet to stretch it out to anything over 15-20 minutes, not counting the wait. It’s not really that big of a thing to do yourself. The only positive I can see to taking it to the dealer would be to help keep track of your service record if you sell, and its not like that’s going to keep your resale from plummeting anyway.

My last "annual maintenence" (oil change and some inspections) at the dealer was charged $135 for parts and $215 for two hours of labor. I'll be out of warranty by my next annual service, so I'm going to find out what my local lindependent will charge.

should cost you a max of 300 at any dealer!! I would drive by the dealer, beep the horn, and moon him. Then give him the finger. Nothing worse than a dealer trying to **** you.

Thanks for all your inputs...I'm tempted to just do it myself. But I'm gonna check with Ron @IBF and Ben @Salerno for pricing first. 6Speed Rules!!!

Around 200 at Pacific Porsche. 500 seems a little high. That sounds like the 15K service not just an oil change.

I do sort of love the Viper but not b/c it "shares" cheaper parts with other models. There's no question we get gouged as Porsche owners but it's up to you to decide how bad a spanking or not you are going to get. I've paid $150-175 for changes independantly.

Another reason to love the viper. Uses a regular oil filter from any magnum V8 truck motor, 10 quarts of oil, and you're done.
