Chris -- you can also get polished or chromed lug bolts from the same place you got your new wheels.

Thanks Jack. I like the idea of polished versus chrome bolts. I use thin walled deep chrom-Moly sockets for wheel removal and I am uncomfortable with the chrome plating holding up over time. I know I could get the soft nylon lined sockets, but would prefer to use what I have. Thanks again...

probably at bd sponsors: booth design or wheel experts...

or they probably also have them at wheel enhancement depending on what type your looking for.

Hey guys, check out www.prestigewheel.com. Ph#800-854-6770. I found out that many tuners buy from these guys and sell them to you for three times the price. They have great stuff and the quality is excellent. I got the chrome lug bolts (14mm-1.50 Ball seat/53mm overall/28mm Shank). Box of 20 costs about $50. Can't go wrong.

I Spoke with someone. Polished bolts are not really an option, since bolts must be made of hardened steel, they will rust, so chrome or anodized are the only options in addition to the standard galvanized, fyi

Prestige (as well as others) also has 19mm lug bolt covers (chrome or black made of plastic)-- they actually look pretty good.

Just watch out for certain chromed bolts--some also chrome the shank/threaded portion of the bolt which can cause hub bore problems over time. Ideally, you just want the "head" portion of the bolt to be chromed. Hope I'm making sense.

Complete sense, the booth ones pictured are chromed on the threads. Looks like bolt head caps are the way to go for some. My gray anodized centers probably won't look good with the chrome look. The standard galvanized gray ones match pretty well. Thanks for your input Jack...

Jack-Can't you just spray some antiseize on the Boothe chrome bolts or is that not the issue?

Richard: It's not a "seizure" issue, but rather the opposite -- a loss of torque issue. The slight increase in the shank thread size (due to the chrome deposits on the threads) has the effect of "reaming out" the hub after a few RR's of the wheels. The result is that over time the lug bolts will start to back themselves off, i.e., not retain the proper torque setting. This had been the experience reported to me by some trusted sources. I have stayed away from chromed bolts, unless it's only the bolt head that's chromed. BTW, that's the case for the stock Ferrari lug bolts -- the threads are chrome free.
