Hi
That left front tire is being replaced as part of the accident. I actually
already have the replacement here. Pirello P-Zero, directly replacing for
what was on the car. It's not mounted on the new rim yet so it shouldn't be
a problem returning it.
As far as replacing the other side, you would have to provide documentation
from Porsche stating that tires need to be replaced in conjunction. As of
this time, I have never been able to get anything in writing from Porsche.
I will wait to proceed on ordering the Michelin tire until I hear back from
you regarding the right front tire.
We are really just getting started on the repairs now. The major section of
sheet metal that is being replaced in the front just came in late last week.
That all needs to be replaced and the front chassis needs to be squared
before we can even mount the new suspension.

That is what the general rule is that I have heard, but how many miles were on the originals? If <2-3K, then probably not a big concern. Over that, I'd begin to worry and replace in pairs, at least on these softer tires our cars run.

What Kfitz said! Low miles there is no problem.
I'd inspect the other tires closely myself particularly after they've taken the shot that yours did!
The only other thought I'd have to offer is to check to see if you flat spotted the other one? Did you lock up your brakes on the way in? I think you said the ice gotcha and if so there shouldn't be a probelm.
