Stevo,
Would you post a pic of the hole you put in your stock airbox. Iwas told this would help also but would like to see the location and size/shape of the hole. Thanks,

please don't assume that I mentioned poorly constructed. I'm sure sportec unit is constructed nicely. just from the way it looks (thickness) of the unit it looks pretty thin. which could lead to issues as they age. I'm sure for racing purposes it's fine but through time and exposure composites have a tendency to get brittle and if they are thin the epoxy resin is the first thing to go, this will lead to the cf webbing to give causing cracking/splintering issues.

if you read my post, I mention that someone needs to design just a plastic snorkel (the portion mounted below the rear deck lid) that leads fresh air into the other side of the STOCK BOX. Alll that would be neede is to cut another hole into the STOCK BOX.

do you understand now? sorry, can't expalin it any easier. you'll have to struggle with it.

That box is like a pair of voluntous lips on a not so beautiful face, lets faced the engine compartment on late Porsches has lots to be desired (looks wise),so anything will help to make this look good!!Sonny.

Oak, I agree...you could do this with a hole cut in the bracket, a snorkel and a plastic replacement for the front of the stock airbox. You would need to injection mold it I assume, so someone would have to build the tooling for the 3 parts (or 2 if you want to cut the bracket). Not sure how many you would sell and what the overall cost would be. It would be nice to just retro fit the 997TT intake...BTW I blow more than that money on dinner sometimes...

honestly, just cutting a hole on the other side w/out a fresh air snorkel will just be a waste of time, hot air from the engine will eventually heat soak. you need another fresh air snorkel to isolate the intake from the hot engine bay air.

Again taken out of context...when I was running just flash, exhaust and intake...I had no problem. The problem with the V-flow was when I went to higher hp...it could not handle my newer set-up and altitude.

I am fat: 5'11" 170 lbs. Have anything nice to say? Can't wait to see your DIY intake mod and enjoy some haggis.
