I just got done with my custom exhaust and it is SIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!

- full T304 stainless
- 3" all the way through
- 100 cell race cats
- straight-through "cylinder" mufflers
- 2 cut stainless tips each side, 3" inside and 2.5" outside

Combines the best parts of Craig, Markski, and SallyMobile exhausts. Couldn't be happier.

Good luck with yours.
Looks great, congrats on the new setup!

I'm planning to go with different tips on the next exhaust, probably dual wall, polished, like this:

Where did you get cats from and what cell are they?

This is a similar setup to Markski's, but I think he has 3" piping and no tips, but same resonators. Mine was fabbed up by Protosport which is a Protomotive dealer here in Jersey.
I first tried 3" piping but I couldn't take the drone. The 2.5" and resonators tokk care of that and no CEL's.

Any pics?

Thanks

I believe they're 300 cell. I picked up em by doing a search on google (kinda embarrassing, but I don't even remember which specific merchant).

These cats flow a bit more than the Random Technology metal matrix cats, which are already pretty good.

Alan,

You definately want to call Toney at Fast Intentions and at least talk to him. He is on the other coast but he does excellent work.

They look like Car-Sound "spun metal" universal cats, but I'm not finding 59929 on their web site. Here is the similar 59959:

http://www.car-sound.com/02product/d...niversal=59959

The Car-Sound tech guy told me the 59959 is the lowest restriction cat they offer and that it is 300 cell. He told me no US manufacturer makes 100 cell cats because of our smog laws. I guess maybe they'll start making 100 cell cats when race cars are required to run cats.

The Magnaflow and Car-Sound are the same cats.

The 59959 are similar, but flow a little less. They're a bit shorter, and are better for tighter placements. For the 996TT, there's plenty of room for the longer 59929.

Here's the info (shows both the 59929 and 59959):

I am new to the TT world still looking for the right car. I live in Cali, Danny at fast intentions built a few exhaust systems for my Audi though. The guy does incredible work. The difference between his and the Miltek was night and day, performance, craftsmenship, etc. Question? When I ran straight pipes on my Audi (2005 S4 ) I lost a little low end. How do I avoid that I a TT? No straight pipes??

Curiously, the tech guy I spoke with said exactly the opposite, but it wouldn't be the first time the guy they stick on the phones knows the least about the product.

Yeah, he's clearly off. Even looking at the pictures tells you that.

Here's the info:

Highest flowing catalyst available. 59929 was tested (1000 cfm range @ 28" of H2O) to flow ~600 CFM. The one piece spun body long neck design and 200 cell density metal composite core make for the best flowing catalyst while providing compact packaging and extreme durability.

The one piece spun body short neck design and 200 cell density metal composite core make for excellet flow and extreme durability. The compact series uses all the same features as the ultra high-flow but provides for SMALLEST packaging avialable in high performance cats.

Others:

MAGNAFLOW PERFORMANCE EXHAUST METALLIC-CAT

Hey guys,
I did end up going with Raudels old custom exhaust setup with 3" piping using a magnaflow muffler with no cats and custom tips. The sound is absolutely incredible and should add a bit more power (turbos "feel" like they spool quicker). I was originally going to have a replica of Raudels exhaust fabbed up but John at Proto suggested I try out this one first. I tried it for about a week and really like the harmonics of this setup. I may end up going with something a bit "quieter" later on but for now this thing sounds absolutely perfect.
I'll try and take some pictures and video later this weekend and post it up.
