Yea i'm a person that has to testdrive cars before I make a big purchase. I mean I'm spoiled to light/powerful/ nimble feeling cars and buy them for the overall sportscar package. The Lambo's have obvious things I love about them, sound, looks but the rest isn't there and just doesn't satisfy me. Drive a Murci if you can though , I don't think you will be too imressed besides for its wow factor

I know what you mean. My GT feels slow to me as well, until I look at the speedo.
The car is put together very well and is so controlled that it feels slow. Trust me, it's faster than it feels. I have not modded my motor yet, but I will. I am not worried about affecting the value. These mods can be reversed, and you can always find someone wanting the aftermarket parts when you are done with them.

If you can afford a Carrera GT then do it that is the best of both worlds with light weight at 3000 lbs and 600 hp. I love the LP640 but as others have said it is too heavy nearly 4000 lbs. Try to get a ride in a Ford GT with the pulley, tune and exhaust and see what you think. Otherwise get your 996 turbo back!

pulley, tune, exhaust FTW. check out www.accufabracing.com
I would do a heffner setup before doing the whipple 3.3.

Road & Track June 07' pg 48. $220,300 making only 350 for 07'
Only thing is they are all spoken for.
As far as the Ford GT, I like it! I wished the interior were nicer and
the exterior fit & finish were better. For $160K+ they could have
paid closer attention to the details.
The Porsche satisfies the ****/retentive side of me.

I thought the Ford GT was already supercharged in stock form? Problem is the GT weighs close to 2 tons if I recall. That is why it feels slow. Go get the Porsche back from the dealer, you won't regret it.
