DIY wing removal? (just the 'blade')
I purchased the CF wing blade on eBay, and received it today. I am not very ifted when it comes to DIY projects, but I guess this swap would not be that bad. Can anyone please tell me how to remove the OEM wing blade?
Thanks in advance.

First of all, you need the spanner tool that will allow you to rotate the the top of the mounting shaft (45-90 degrees or so) so that the existing. It's a simple tool but is pretty much necessary to do the job. The tool has a pin that fits into a small diameter hole on the shaft and it allows you to rotate the top of the shaft. Once you get the old wing off, you will also likely need a hex head socket to remove the mounting nuts from your existing wing to use in the new one. The socket is either 13 or 14mm, I'm sure a search will uncover that bit of info. If it's 13mm, remember that is almost identical to 1/2". They are screwed in and the factory used a bit of loctite (or similar) so you will need to use a bit of force to break them loose. Whole process should take 10 minutes. good luck with the new wing.

Schematic:
Tools needed:
Turn the pistons with the spanner wrench until the wing is released (about 180º). Lay the wing on a padded surface and remove the 14mm allen inserts (you need some leverage). Use loctite blue when you reinstall.

I took a lot of force to unscrew the inserts from the original spoiler. I used a 2 foot piece of pipe as a cheater bar to get leverage on the hex wrench. It was very awkward getting the necessary force while holding the old spoiler and not scratching it.
