I am always amused by the excitement/hostility a Z06 can generate here.

If you love cars, you have to love the Z06. It is am awsome car on the track. Unbelievable for a stock car. I have driven it a few times in driving schools and would buy one in a heartbeat if I had that kind of money for a track car.

I am now sad that with the 4.2 in my S4 i am having trouble getting mid to low teens around the city and trying to get 20 on the highway. Damn gearing, over 3 grand at 80mph.

I have driven a blown C5 Z06 and i think i actually CRIED. That thing was crazy. It was fast, but dangerous. It was WAY WAY too much power for the chasis. I know the car had upgraded brakes but i dont know about suspension. I bet the C6 Z06 is much better though.

Good luck and i wish the wifey luck.

Seth,

Congrats, I drove a new Black/Black Z06 on Sunday and all I can say is
wow!!! Comfortable, lots of rear storage, easy to drive and torque at
any speed in almost any gear. It is deceptively fast allowing one to
zip up to 120mph in an instant. Damn impressive and I would ADD one to
my fleet if I could.

enjoy it,

Marty

Long 6th gear and low end torque do wonders for mileage

wtf? lol... how is the handling and response in the Z06? i knew a guy that had one and never drove it, his butt was always in his 997TT lol His reasoning is that it felt to blah to him when he drove it.. He said "its just like riding in another GM just fast from the factory" My brother had one for a while although i never got around to driving it

First time I have heard that from ANYBODY....the only comment that I have heard from people that own both cars (Z and 997tt) is the 997tt "felt blah". I have been in a C6Z and "blah" is not something that comes to mind.

I had a guy ask me a question yesterday. We are standing in front of the 997TT and the Z06. He asked the typical question, "Which one do you like driving more?"

I said that the Z06 is more fun to drive.
The 997 is easier to drive and more comfortable.
But the Z06 is a little more rare and unpredictable. It really makes you drive it compared to the 997.

Seth.
Congrats on the purchase. Just remember as top gear proved, you don't really need anything but 4th gear! 0-170 and your good. She doesn't even need to learn how to shift!
