Got my wife a C6 Z06... dang.
I like it... a lot. Impressive machine. I had C5 Z06 with minor mods (headers, xpipe, highflow cats, injectors, intake and tune) and it was fast. I have a EVO Stage IV Turbo S, and it's fast (I think its faster than the Z06 but I wouldn't bet on that). But this Z06 is fast... really fast, it was pulling on my buddies 580whp Cobra (the cobra has some tune issues to be fair).
The interior isn't Porsche, but it's WAY better than the C5 vettes, it's actually not bad at all, not a lot of cows died to make this interior, but it's fit and finish is pretty good. The seats are comfy but supportive, the steering, braking are great. The handling is amazing, flat, and glued.
The engine is silly, 7.0L (gets 28mpg on the highway) and 505 HP (underated). Get it over 4000rpm and it comes to life with a vengance.
Its really easy to drive fast and hard.
I'm surprised that they can make a car with a 1 off (just for the Z06) aluminum frame, a magnesium engine cradle, a 1 off (just for the Z06) 7.0L dry sump engine with titanium valve trane and con-rods, and 1 off (z06 again) carbon fiber panels and sell it for 77K.
BTW. This car is a MUCH quicker, and MUCH nicer package than the Ford GT out of the box.
It's my wifes car. I still have the turbo, still love the turbo, and hope the turbo is quicker after Kevin at UMW does some magic to it.
If you have any questions ask. I know many like to make fun of the Z06 here, but there is nothing to make fun of. Comparing a stock Porsche to a stock Z06 (and ignoring the price diff (nearly 2 Z06's for one 997 Turbo) and I don't think I could find any reason other than very minor fit and finish and lack of leather upscale interior (like my wife says: "Porsches are pretty").

Oh yeah, I forgot a strange tidbit about it... it's got 6 piston front brakes and 4 piston rears (huge rotors). The strange part is that there are 6 brake pads up front, one for each piston. Thats really different. They seem to work really well.
