who's keyboard racing? I stated facts from actual events. I don't bench/keyboard race...I do mine for real. Ask anyone that's been on this forum for a while and they'll tell you. If you have a Z06 (modded or not) I'll be happy to take you out behind the woodshed too

Reread my 1st post in this thread. I have whooped modded Z's too. If you know of one (modded or not) that can outrun (as NONE ever have) have him come out...until then YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS KEYBOARD RACING

Its obvious that your car would rape the new Z06 in any type of acceleration contest. Its not even the same ballpark. Your GT2 would easily clear 135 MPH traps at Sea Level. It is also not accurate for RocketW19 to think that the run by RANGER is what typically signifies what most C6 Z06's can do. RANGER has over 1000 passes at the dragstrip iirc, coupled with his drag skills, and running that that MD strip/track under those ideal conditions = Times and Traps most Z06's will never see. Period

PS. that would be like saying stock E46 M3's are 12.4 second cars stock, because Lee Mathews made a 12.4@110+ pass on his stock motor M3, but in reality, we all know stock M3's are lo 13 second@104-105 cars.
I was going to mentions Mathews m3 run...he wasnt stock tho...he had a tune, LWFW and clutch, drag radials and intake. still impressive nonetheless.

How come we haven't seen any driftbox numbers for the vette? Any owners out there willing to put their Z on the box so we can get some 0 - 60, 0 - 100 and 60 - 130 times? I'm curious. Anyone?

Which is why I said when comparing the Porsche Turbo to the Z06 that isnt even apples to apples. Since the Z is the top dog right now people are going to see what it takes to get their cars to beat them. Dollar for dollar, a new turbo is no match in performance for a Z06, but you can buy a 60k 996 turbo and put 15k in it and run straight up with a Z06.

The cars were built for different purposes, apples vs oranges.

It takes 550-600 hp to beat a Z06 depending on who's 550 it is. My car is classified by orton as 550 hp, but you wont find a hp calculator that gets a 3650 lb car (with driver) down the strip at 126 mph with only 550 hp, if that's the case then the Z has to have less than 500

I saw that run that Ranger made, BTW...10.9 is not 10.7. my 60' on that run was 1.8, while his was much lower and I STILL outran him. So I guess none of the guys could drive, huh? My buddy with the modded Z switched cars with me and we ran with the same result. Dude, the Z is a cool car but come on

Let me know when you're ready to run your Z06 against me so you can personally get a taste of harsh reality.
lol your right its not 10.7 you got me there! then again he was stock all it would take is a 7 thousand dollar supercharger and bamm you loose. and for the record i dont have a ZO6 thought about it 10 or so times but they are just to cheep lookin on the inside. i have a modded to hell E55 gettin ready to switch to a 997TT or if i can wait long enough a 08 CL65 would be nice. probabaly the 997TT for me.

my 4.10 gears certainly help with the tq feel, and so will a SCer if i end up doing that. the 996TT just has gobs of tq at any rpm from any gear, its just amazing.

So after all of that, all you see is the ET? You missed the trapspeeds, DA and everything else huh? So "bamm" do your research before you start bench racing.

I'll run that E55 of yours in the meantime though

The 996 turbo was developed in 1999, the Z06 in 04 or 05, so I would expect it to walk a stock turbo. My orginal point was that I would love to see videos of the Vette gettting walked by modded 996 turbos. For all the banter, every f-en video I see of the Vette, it is doing the walking, with all due respect Renn Tech, film your kills, I hate those Vettes. Before the Z06 came out, there were always posts about dyno horse power not being the same as real world horse power. Now it seems that no matter what a turbo dynos, there is no video of it walking a Vette.

Alright Ritchie, I'll make sure I get the carnage on video for you. I never thought that it was a big enough deal to video tape it before. It's really not even a fair fight. The video will be pretty boring though...if filmed from my car the Z will drop out of sight within a few seconds.

I like to video entertaining match ups like my car vs. GSXR1000s, TTVipers, TTVettes, etc.
