My take? I really like the Z06. It's a fantastic car.

I'm not worried about getting beat by one (stock or modded) in my 996TT, but I also have a few mods here and there. Regardless, the Z06 is a great car and I have a lot of respect for it.

I agree 100%! It's a wonderful car and quite an engineering feat for an incredible price. People just have to realize that it's not the be all end all. I got in an arguement with a guy on the Vette forum that said it will completely outperform a CGT

Very true, Joe. There are definitely a lot of uninformed car "enthusiasts" out there.

The TT and the Vette are cool but, what's up with the Camaro? Are those some 13" wrinklewalls? Spill the beans!! I know you have track video of that thing! I would guess at least a 9 second car.

The tires are 28" tall M/T ET Street Radials. Yes, the car runs mid 9s. Vid here:

Humble, too.

Nah, it's an old school LT1 small block with a Vortech centrifugal blower. The engine builder has been designing small blocks longer than most on this board have been alive, and he gave me a very well-balanced combination. The car is docile on the street up to about 1/4 throttle.

Yes, and a Magnacharger plus some other go/stop/turn goodies. I wanted a coupe with a Z06 or better performance envelope. But we need to return this thread to the original poster who, as you all know, was asking about C6s.

Mod for Mod, huh? I have bolt-ons and a tune, he has had extensive internal engine mods plus the same external mods as me, but he still got walked.

I guess that my problem is that I deal with the real world and my OWN experiences and not what a magazine or some dude on a forum says to base my "facts" on.
I have driven the ZO6 and the GT3. I am sure the GT2 is great car to and I am sure yours is the best ever!

So I don't know, maybe you can explain why the Vette on ****ty runflats beat the GT2 and GT3 at the ring? Did I miss something or was it simply that it wasn't you with your vast racing experience behind the wheel.

Or maybe you can explain how a ZO6 keeps up with a 997GT3 on a track. You can certainly afford the car but it sure as **** doesn't mean you can drive it well. That goes as much for the Vette as your car.

I like Porsches I think they are great, but I'm not stupid, they are whacky expensive and for the money you can go just as fast in a Vette. Say whatever you want but you paid dearly to make your GT2 fast and while its great for you I think its funny that a competent driver in a stock ZO6 can go as fast.

I have seen you down at Firebird and you are not the only one having fun. And the guy in the Yellow ZO6 was a total ***** to me just like you. Funny how that works itself out.
