Very respectable numbers.
After driving against one at Brainerd last year (he had minor mods and
stoptech brakes and could pull my mousy k-16 set-up on the straights slightly), and driving a bone stock one this week, I have much appreciation
for them. Part of my mod plan was to be faster than ANY street driven car at my home track of Brainerd. My biggest competition (not that Z06, but a stock
GT2 (pipe only), driven by Luis Sr. and a new 997GT3. Go figure??

One final comment, the C6Z06 doesnt "feel" that fast...power delivery is smooth and linear,
no drama or excitement in the way it performs. Some like that and some dont. The clutch is
very chattery on low speed/low rpm starts which is annoying.

You are right, as sometimes happens other "rush projects" have
landed in Todd's Lap and my transmission is the only hold up.

Other than that one mess up, I think you've handled yourself pretty well so far in this thread.

 

I understand, but again, please keep in mind why my mess up came about. It came about AFTER I was personally attacked by Christian, a member that is usually the one to initiate attacks on me. I am more of a "car guy" than most people here and I think the TT is a great car, but all I do is speak the facts about performance and people get upset and start to say childish and irrelevant comments. I don't have to tell you all of this, I am sure you have read all my posts and understand what I am talking about.

 

I think 21 pages is enough for one topic, but since there's already a similar thread going, I s'pose closing this thread won't do any good. There are a few humorous nuggets sprinkled in among the spewage, so reading it is not a total waste.

Gary, I wasn't making fun about your hp #'s. I don't think I've ever seen someone post the decimals before. Just hit me as funny. Damn good numbers for your setup. I'm running Kooks and Magnaflow and no tuning and I'm curious what numbers my car would put down.

You are because the guy making the comments about the ring is as clueless as you are. And even worse he's nothing more than a mag racer with no real experience just reading out of a magazine, but you would cling to something like that no wouldnt ya.

 

For the record, I have beat a Z06 three out of three tries.. I'd owned the car about 4 weeks, and the car was still very new to me, and still unsure of how to launch it. The "mighty" Z06 jumped me off the line to the top of first, but I closed and passed him at the top of second. and by the top of 3rd, I was well over 6 cars in front of him... Twice off a light we did this, and then the third time he asked for a 40mph roll from 2nd. I spanked him HARD on that one. The fellow told me he had never lost a stop light scrap since buying the car last fall, so I was a first and only. I made it a point to let him know that my car was far from stock, and I paid about $5K less than a 2007 Z06 I was looking at buying used with 2100 miles on it... So there are stories out there.
