Alright! Exhaust system arrived today and installed in the car!! I was so used to the noise the cat with the straights pipes made that this setup sounds quiet.

Seriously, sounds good. No drone. Looks great (too bad the look will not last long with rain, road grime, etc... ). Extremely happy with the setup.

Thanks again to Joe and the team at FabSpeed for their help!!!!

Cool

Photos... forgot to take them before using the car... so much for having a shot where everything is nice, new, and shiny...

Took them for a good run...

Anyway... Fabspeed has the cats. So now it is just a matter of waiting for the whole system to get back.

But would be nice to hear from those adding this to their current FabSpeed exhaust system.

Hi Wachuko

great post..I was in the process of removing my twin can design exhaust(similar to Fabspeed) becasue of drone(I have a Tip)...this could be worth a try. Do you know if the cones are available in sizes other than 3 inches?

Ditto.

BTW, your avatar looks nice. Is yours a Techart bumper or another?

I'm taking my car in the morning to the shop to have mine finally completed.

I just ordered vortex cones for my Chinese torture device (Fabspeed SuperSport exhaust). Other forums (non-Porsche) claim these cut drone 50% or so........this is my last hope for keeping the damn thing

I added the cones to my Sport version. It is a little better, but I may upgrade the Version 3. I had the supersport before and it was definitely to loud inside the cabin if you go for cruises.

By the way, you will probably have to install the cones in the muffler outlet due to the sharp radius of the inlet.

Fabspeed tells me you can install the 3" cone into the muffler inlet, where the cone tip sticks into the muffler canister.

They said, and other forums said that is WAY more effective than installing them downstream of the muffler.

Let me know how it works out. I did a lot of searchs on Renntech, Rennlist, and here and did not find much. I never was told you could install the with the cone facing downstream. The stuff I found on Google showed putting them upstream of the muffler, with the cone facing upstream, but that just did not look do-able with the sharp radius on the inlet so I opted for the downstream installation. I could move mine if you have great results.

I should add that there was a significant improvement with the cones, but I think I may have been better off spending the money trading up to the version 3.

Keep me posted, and take photos if you can.

Why move them, you could add a 2nd set and get more reduction.
