From OEM IC -> EVO IC's with K24 more Turbo lag?

Replacing engine:30-40 K; Turbos; 10 plus K; IC's and hoses (3.1k...Stephen should give you a deal since you got the stage 4 from him).
I was in a similar situation as you and asked Stephen, Todd K (protomotive) and the best factory mechanices here in Houston and they all recommended the upgrade and I am only making about 60 more hp than you (less if you are running the EVO race file).
Heat is an engine and turbos worst enemy, but hey what do I know. Keep the OEM's but don't drive the car hard for more than 20 minutes at a time and you should be fine.
Penny smart but pound foolish IMO. At least get the GT2 IC's (see the for sale section here on 6speed...some GT2 IC's are for sale...offer $475) and some silicone boost hoses.

Just for you .. the key in this statement is air flow :-)
Evolution MotorSports continues to lead the Porsche performance aftermarket with new and innovative products for the 996 twin turbo models. Our most recent achievement is an intercooler upgrade, which provides better efficiency and power as compared to the OEM turbo or GT2 intercoolers. Our 3-D CAD designed cast aluminum / CNC machined end tanks offer maximized flow and efficiency for better power and torque.

Yes you are correct about the purpose of an IC. But I am speaking about the flow into and out of the IC. If one can cool the charge with out slowing down its flow to the motor then you have a win-win situation :-) The stock IC have two disadvantages. 1. Limited ability to cool intake charge. 2. It is very restrictive to airflow.. just look at the intake and exhaust plumbing.

ICs have one function....Cool the air going into the motor... period.
the original thread started by asking if aftermartket ICs will decrease lag....
I say no. But they will cool the air better.

question, if your IC are operating said 98percent efficiency and no heat soak and you put larger more volume of IC piping and it runs at 98 percent efficiency are going to gain more power?

It looks like the larger more volume of IC piping make a big difference in the middle range based on better flow dynamics, like the RSS plenum does and perform, and no so significant peak hp gains (like the RSS plenum as well ).
Just trying to find an answer...
I have the new headers like the Evo 997TT so I should expect (based on a 600hp stage 4), if a get new IC's, more like 630-640 hp (leaving the new EVO WG out of the equation to be more conservative) with no heat soak at any conditions as a bonus.
