Battery Dies again and again...likely suspects?

My car would not start, so I charged the battery and it started up. Drove it and parked it. Then it would not start up after sitting overnight or a few hours. This happenned several times. I replaced the battery, and the fresh battery discharged overnight. Charged it again and it started.

No warning lights come on. I assume something is draining the battery. No interior lights or accessories were left on. Battery cables are attached snugly. Any ideas? Thanks!

I had the same problem in another car and it turned out it was the Battery. Every time a car battery dies, after you charge it, it is never the same afterwards. If it dies too many times, it will not hold enough charge to start the car next time after sitting (even short periods of time).

Get a "Battery Maintainer" to keep your battery fresh and trouble free for the future.

Had the same problem, had the alternator replaced ($900 parts, $300 labor).
Guess what, it was something else. Hours of detective work finally showed that the dealer mechanic had shorted a starter wire against the engine, causing a slight drain which killed the new battery.

On another car, the same problem turned out to be the phone and cradle just draining the battery slowly, slowly until ... dead.

All of the electronics in these cars cause them to be trickier to diagnose than in the past.

had an alternator problem and it was replaced.

my symptoms were "battery/regenerator warning" indicator/light. also, batt level guage went low to 10v and lower and lower while i was driving. then once bat levels dipped below a certain voltage all my interior warning lights came on since these electronic components need 12v to run the right way.

you do not have the above symptoms so it might be something else.
