Wow missed the fight. It turned out to be a clutch accumulator. Fixed cheap and easy at Speed Gallery.

Thanks All.

I had that same exact problem the other day for 1 evening. It was a high pitched whining sound that went away when I put the clutch in or the RPMS dropped below 2,000 (while in gear).

It was REALLY loud, but since that night it never happened again so I didn't bother going to the dealer because they will not service the problem if I cannot reproduce it.

Is it ok for me to continue driving the car if I heard that noise just once?

Thanks,
KJ

I just changed my clutch accumulator and slave at the dealer. This sound still continues and goes away when i put the pedal down on the clutch.

Could this be a bad accumulator again ? or a Power steering issue?

Check the reservoir valve...search on that. I had the noise with that and for me it was this issue....

I respect the flash point of pentosin and gravity (and exhaust location).

FYI.

Thanks. I will check the power steering system. Is this problem usually associated with the Clutch accumaltor or the Power steering pressure res valve? I have seen both answers. Confused.

I am thinking PW steering res valve...since i have a new accumalator and slave

It will need to be replaced...both the pump and resevior...$700??? I just got charged $2500 here in S Cal. Mine went out about a week ago...your going to lose ability to shift the car soon as well...that pump controls the accumulator as well. It may be the clutch pedel hard when cold then to the floor when you start it....EXACTLY what happened to me...you may need the accumulator as well or if your very lucky it might be just the accumulator...but based on the souds and clutch I'm 99% its your pump and res is out...it does suck but from what I understand its common...
Good luck
JB
PS I would love to know what your gonna pay to fix it...

I am a Newbie so be patient please.

One symptom and two possible causes
When engauging the Clutch the noise goes away.

So if this could be a power steering issue then why would the noise go away when depressing the Clutch? I do not understand the relationship here.

The same symptom just showed up yesterday for me.

Also are the TSB's available on the internet where I can access them ?

There is a relation because the clutch system uses the power steering pressure to relief the amount of effort you need to depress the clutch pedal....

TSB's are on Renntech.org
