GT700 at Altitude
#32
Villain...the first Saturday of every month a bunch of locals get together there...all kinds of exotics...coffee and donuts. I think I'm going to head down for a quick visit...but I have a noon appointment.

I have a buddy who used to run a tuning shop in Boulder doing mostly Evo/Sti type cars. He had a dyno dynamics setup and would generallly use a 10% manual correction factor for turbo cars. SAE correction factors were usually in the 25% range for N/A cars.
Its amazing how much the altitude affects cars up there. My M3 was slow as a dog.

I ran Super Comp today at Bandimere in The Import Event. It's my first time bracket racing and I had a great time. I was thinking of running RWD heads up but my car can't hang yet. The compettion was running very low 11's or high to mid 10's in heads up.
My best times in the elimination rounds were:
R/T .065
60' 1.765
330 5.077
1/8 7.687
MPH 92.28
1000 9.940
1/4 11.832
MPH 121.86
R/T .011 (Missed 3rd gear in this run and went right to 4th but still won)
60' 1.828
330 5.247
1/8 8.485
MPH 76.76
1000 11.047
1/4 13.033
MPH 116.01
R/T .432
60' 1.805
330 5.107
1/8 7.696
MPH 96.29
1000 9.931
1/4 11.805
MPH 121.91
I red lighted on my next run.
I really think that 11.7's to 11.8's is all she's got at this altitude. I'm hoping that Todd from EVOMS can work on a map that helps compensate for altitude. If the turbos and the fuel aren't maxed it should be possible.

Video has been uploaded to YouTube waiting for it to post. And as it turns out, I do have the 11.80 run video'd. Sorry for the not so great quality, it was done with my digital camera. I'll post the link as soon as it is posted on Youtube.

I'm surprised as well. It doesn't seem right and I expected this car to be much quicker. The uncorrected dyno numbers show it makes about 510 whp which seems low even at 6000'.
