Just got back from the track. Temp was about 80F and Bandimere is 6000' absl.

Car ran really well tonight:

60' 1.825
330 5.089
1/8 7.612
MPH 99.11
1000 9.743
1/4 11.529
MPH 127.21

NHRA altitude corrected is 10.84@134.37

Unfortunately the spline (I think that's what it's called) broke by the wheel on the half shaft on my third ran. This happened three weeks ago so it's twice in three weeks! The half shafts are upgraded by Evoms but the stock spline is still used. I was trying to watch my launches tonight and stayed at about 3400-3500 rpms. Any one else having this problem?

Todd from Evoms will be here in Denver tomorrow to tue the GT2 and Cayenne for altitude. I'd really like to see low 11's by the end of the season.

John, great run to get the 11.5, did you happen to see the boost levels? Did the car get dropped off tonight or will it be there tomorrow? Any word on a new axle? I don't know if you saw the pics of the old one, but where it is breaking is not only stock, but hollow. I can post pics if you would like. Hopefull can have it rolling again before Todd leaves town.

Chance,

The car is at the dealership. Todd was able to track down the part and it will be at the dealership before 10:30 a.m. This way we can tune in the afternoon.

This time the spline actually flew out of the wheel. I put the peice on the driver side floor. Wait until you see it!

Talk to you tomorrow and thanks for you help,

John

Did you make any chnages to get the 127mph? I'm figuring that you turned up the boost via a boost controler.

I did turn the boost up manually. Todd got it up to 23 psi tapering off to 21 yesterday. The car is running really well now. We made 660 whp on a dynojet yesterday but the SAE correction factor, IMO, is high at 1.25. It was hot out but I think 1.18 is more realistic.

I also found out that I've been short shifting. I didn't realize that the rev limiter was raised to 7200 rpms until Todd told me. I've been shifting at 6500 rpms which is the stock red line.

Hopefully a good launch, once the spline issue is fixed, mixed with reving the car to its limit will get me low 11's, maybe a high 10 second run. I've been using 5th gear due to the short shifting which I no longer need to do.

The Cayenne made a huge gain with the canges that Todd made. It picked up over 70 whp making about the same power as the GT2 to the wheels. When you consider the drive train loss on this vehicle these numbers are impressive.

It was a fun day getting these dialed in and Todd's a great guy.

Hey John, good to hear the axle held up for the tuning. Sounds like the Cayenne really responded well to the changes as well. I still have an axle sitting in my cabinet at work, is it to be rebuilt or just waiting for the upgraded axle setup? Also nice meeting Todd as well, wish I could have made it to the dyno, but the other cars there weren't going to fix themselves.
