And for Nissan's final PROMO, they are going to hire Eddie Griffin to drive the car for the cameras at Irwindale Speedway
Here are some of his past accomplishments:

While I am not quite sure I believe the 7:15 lap time claim, I am none the less excited to see it in the flesh. Even if it runs 7:40 I would be very impressed.
I think a lot of the excitement around this car is due to its unique history coupled with the fact that we never got one in the US until now, that along with near impossible rumors spreading around the internet to put the car into near god-like status equals all the huge buzz.
Regardless of lap times I still eagerly await its arrival.

The excitement is big for the guys who love to mod. If previous cars are any example there will be 600-700-800hp GTR's in no time with the aftermarket support. All this for relatively low investment to boot.
Nothing new really, 600+ hp Supras have been terrorizing Z06's and Vipers for years now.
I for one am very excited to see this car hit the street and I have no doubt it will beat 997TT and 997GT3's on street and track - the nissan guys have been talking smack for years now saying it will and the aftermarket will make this one of the best tuner cars ever. How can you not love that?

Currently I'm going to work my *** off for the year and hopefully pick up an Elise in the middle of Spring next year... then turbo it.

Oh and unlike Supras, Skylines can perform with 600-800hp around a road course effectively.
