Correct Bosch maf # for TT
#2
Check my post on the same subject. This seems to be a topic of some debate, but the part number for my 01 certainly seems to be Porsche #:996 606 124 00/Bosch #: 0 280 218 009
But there have apparently been some updates to it that seem to be possibly relevant for 02+ cars although the part is only referenced for the C4/C2 etc Porsche #:986 606 125 01/Bosch# 0 280 218 055...but it was supposed to update the earlier 996 part number - and I know that at least WROSS is running that MAF without issue...but i also know that my car runs like shyte with it (hunting idle, etc.). Autohaus Arizona says that Bosch and Porsche states that is an updated part and the correct MAF. Kevin at UMW (and at least my car) says its not.
My recommendation would be to pull the current MAF out of the car and if its 996 606 124 00 - get that one. If its 986 606 125 01 or 986 606 125 00 then get the 986 606 125 01.
(although it sure seems weird that a boxter MAF works for the TT)

Is cheaper to import this yourself (inc freight costs) as opposed to buying through Porsche dealer in Oz?

I just imported all parts required for a major service also changed the MAF. When ordering items need to spec RoW (rest of the world) as USA P-cars have different spec's. Jeff @ Sunset Imports (Oregon) has both RoW & USA spec parts available. I travel to the USA every 4-6 months, at times will hand carry parts back. Next USA source import item on the list is the UMW LWFW/Sach's Clutch....will pick up during SEMA visit Oct/Nov.
Thanks for the heads up.Will keep in mind for future reference.

Did WROSS have the 124 before and is running the new one 125 01 now? With no issues???
