For fun...I'd rather waste gas racing a 500+ BHP S/C M3 than driving to the office

 

There's a very noticable difference; maybe 50-60 Bhp. And the Turbos sound mean as hell on high boost!

 

First and foremost, nice kill Awais. Your car looks and runs great!!!!

Second, I do not believe that M3 was putting down 470 rwhp at the time of that race. A 50-60 rwhp differential would not produce the beating shown in the video. The M3 was either not running properly or never made the claimed power (I note that the power rating was stated as an "approximate", thereby suggesting that it is not an actual dyno figure, but ratrher, an estimate that may have little relationship to the actual power).

Third, I completely disagree with the concept of a "fair race." Run what you brung!!! One car should not be required to run at less than full potential simply to make it a "fairer" race. IMHO, one should show up with their car at full potential, and drive it to the max, regardless of the seemingly inferior or incapable opponent. Run what you brung, and run it to the limit. If that produces a huge victory, so be it!!!

I can tell you guys that here in Chicago there is noticable friction between Pcar and BMW( particualry M series) owners. For example, Awais, a few months ago, raced a supercharged M5 and a stock M6... beat the hell out of M6.... next day he got threatening emails from the M6 owner and his friends... to the point that they threaten to harm him. Why? becasue he beat them. I have friends as well with BMW, and they liek us, believe that BMWs are superior... even to our P cars... but when I challenged them to a race they only point out what I did to my car and back down. They say that on a road track they will own me... I just stay quiet.
I personally saw Awais run some cars... the simple bolt on, entry level set up, does the job requested.

I was there that day. The only problem Awais had was with the M6 guy. The rest of us BMW guys didn't give a ****. The "kid" with the M6 was just mad. I really don't think the BMW guys are "that" crazy. Most of the BMW guys I know turn into Porsche guys.

I do think your M5 is fast. My guess is that it will trap close to 122 and will be a good race for Vik's M3.

As far the Stage 2 you beat, remember...not all Stage 2 TT's are the same. Mine trapped 126 when it was a Stage 2. That's a far leap from 119.

Anyway, I do think your car is *awesome*...expecially considering it's exclusivity. But when you start throwing around 7 second 60-130 claims...you have to be prepared to back it up. Later...

Anyway, that was before I saw your race against BuddyG in his TT. I was only being honest. Wasn't dissing at all.

Based off of the video you posted in the thread, I got 9 seconds timed from my watch. How the heck was I "dissing" your car in anyway by telling you the time I was getting? Should I have lied to you and told my watch showed a faster time than it actually did in order to make you feel good?

I guess I can't win. If I lie, I'm a liar. if I tell the truth, I'm dissing someone's car. I'll take the latter, thank you. LOL...

By the way, here's your reply to me telling you I saw 9 seconds on my watch. Make up your mind already.

 

Well.... You just have a way of letting people know how "slow" you think their cars are. I look at that as a diss. And my point here is that you think you know everyone's cars... but really you don't. I just showed you an example. So know you think most of the Stage 2 TT's are faster than Evans. But really... you don't know. Thats why Im backing Evan. You really don't know how fast people's cars are. But you will swear you do.

Your argument is absolutely ridiculous. I told you the actual time I got from my watch after watching your vid...you thanked for me for it...and now all of the sudden, in an attempt to back Evan...it magically becomes a "diss"?

I guess all of these guys are "dissing" your car too, in the same thread. Or does that definition only apply to me since I was the one having a recent debate with Evan?

You won't find a post from myself or Evan(that I know of) that will blatently put down someones car or the power they have or hope to gain. I can dig up TONS from you. Its in your blood to not let other people cars shine.

Ya, you're right. That sure doesn't sound like an admission that I was wrong to me.

You call it "not letting other people's car shine", I call it brutal honesty (when appropriate). It's in my blood to be honest, whether it hurts someone's feelings or not. I've already admitted that...and I'm proud that it's part of my personality.

And no matter how many "negative" posts you can dig up, I can dig up 10 times that amount in positive, supportive posts that I've written..regardless of how fast or slow the car happens to be.

No sweat, Josh...just don't ever ask or PM me for any more automotive opinions like you have so many times in the past on multiple forums. I won't respond, and you'll be a hypocrite.

I would like to see ALL these PM's. I know of the one I asked what you thought my time would be. Reason was....... I remember you saying my car was slower than it was. And I thought it was funny that after you swore it was 9 sec.... you would say 7 after you saw the race. And you did say 7. But whatever... Show me all the PM's. Do it in this open forum too. Don't try and PM me. Now here you are caught in a straight lie.... where's the PM's?

It seriously goes both ways, ive been in situations where its Audi vs. BMW, Porsche vs. Ferrari/Lambo, Audi vs. Cobra it will just go on and on.

Regardless i wouldnt back down from a race with you, i think it would be a great comparison. Theres a couple high powered BMW's like the Porsches that would give some good runs. I know ICS ran there turbo E36 to a 10.4 @ 141 (2.1 60 foot) with street tires and lower boost. Im just throwing it in there for the sake of BMW.

My M5board account no longer exists, and my M3 forum PM's have been deleted and re-filled countless times over the years. Never occurred to me that I shouid save any PMs from phillym5 to post during a debate. I just happened to still have the 60-130 pm still in my inbox here out of sheer luck. Anyway....

Whether I still have the PM's or not doesn't matter...because the fact that you sent them isn't the issue. The issue is not to waste your time sending me anymore.

As far as lies go...I asked you earlier to provide timeslips proving you and your buddies 119 mph Stage 2 drag strip runs. I want to see if they were real runs or if you were BS'ing (lying) to back up Evan. You've ignored my request....so the question remains; do you have them or a video of these runs, or have you been caught in a "straight lie"?
