As I don't get to the track near as much as I like, I heal-toe downshift every gear at 90%+ of all red lights. It's great practice and it's fun to hear the Europipe burble.
+1 all too fun for sure

Same here...I don't see how I could not rev-match! What is the alternative?? Letting your car jerk around??

I haven't driven a clutch for awhile so I started doing it again when I bought junior a Mazdaspeed 6 which I could do with the ball of my foot. When I got the Cayman I could not do it that way and am now working on the more traditional heel toe and braking with the ball of my foot and using my heel to actuate the gas. Good times!

I change it up constantly...sometimes I'll single clutch, sometimes double. Heel-toe for turns when it's clear. If I'm feeling especially racy, I'll left foot brake, rev match and not use the clutch--I usually do this on my daily driver, I'm still learning where the rev ranges are for my C4S.

Yea, if you downshift and let the clutch out with the engine at lower rpms, it will engine brake the car for a second until you get on the gas again. That's not a problem unless your traction is already near the limit in a turn, etc.

This is why I heal/toe to rev match at every red light. I need the practice because I still have a chance of driving the RS Spyder in the ALMS .... well it's fun to pretend

Always rev-match for me with the P car. With the 996TT is less easy to do than with a N/A car, because while I'm on the brakes it doesn't like to rev and I have to press the accelerator much more than with my ex-996C2.

Maybe that's got something to do with brake boost (well, the lack of it without a tune) and the first part of the accelerator movement that has nearly no effect on the throttle in the TT.
