Angry PSS9 rattle in rear upper mount

The installation of my PSS9s went pretty smoothly last weekend, but the rear upper shock mounts are rattling very loudly. It's not the 3 studs holding the mounting plate to the body; rather it's coming from where the shock stud attaches to the mounting plate. The nut is very tight. I guess I'll have to put a piece of rubber between the mounting plate and the washer that's under the nut.

Anyone else have experience with this?

Jeff

Same issue

I noticed that I am getting more of a thump sound at the back end when I go over a bump. I also installed the PSS9s and have tracked the car. Had rears set to 3 and dialed them back to 5 still no change in sound.

I was thinking it might be loose airbox?

Guys, I had a defective upper mount in my JIC c/o. I'm not too mechanically inclined and all I know is the pillowball was replaced in the rear driver's side upper mount and the problem was resolved. No more thump. It was installed properly and all nuts were securely fastened....just a defective part.

Don't rule out the rear sway bar linkage

It might be a loose sway bar linkage. It makes a clunking sound just like you described. Make sure both ends are tight.

Did you use the stock thrust bearings?

I don't recall there being a thrust bearing in the back, but I did put the rubber isolator ring between the spring and the new aluminum spring cup. I reused the stock mounting plate and the stock washer between the mounting plate and the retaining nut.

I'm starting to think that it's just the adjustment ****, so I put a tie wrap on it really tight and will head out for a test drive soon.

BTW, I did retain the thrust bearings in the front struts.
