Yeah, they were all checked out and the car is back together...we are going to do a test later on today after full warmup (standing still to 180 degrees) and then 15 minutes of driving do some full take-offs, roll-outs, etc...

I'll let you know what happens but so far he seems a lot happier and he says it is "fast as ***" LOL...wait till I get him into a hybrid turbo and ECU upgrade if not more! LOL

Thanks all for your help, keep up the ideas and I will report more next week!

if its still stuttering a little the only sensible thing would be coils... I replace mine and dont any chances because labor alone will kill u if u have to take it a apart again....

true but the shop we are using is doing this as part of a PPI and will not close out the ticket until the problem is solved! Incredible shop too (racing 996/997) and have spent 10 hours on the car already and only charged him so far for 2!

I will take the coils into consideration and make sure Dave will ask about it again.

Thanks Marski!

yeah, stressed or borderline blown plugs seem to create more resistance on the coils and are not far behind the fryed plugs to go out.

ebaker is infamous around these parts
Check or change out the MAF.
A bad maf makes the car run too rich at cruise, so the ECU adjusts the fuel trims leaner to compensate. Then at full throttle over 3000 +/- RPM it's too lean, and you get a lean miss. My car ran like it had a clogged fuel filter or bad plugs but it was actually the MAF.

sure thing...I appreciate all the help I have received! I hope we can resolve his issues...he hates CEL lights and it is part of the problem...hope to get to the bottom of it soon so he can enjoy his car again.

Does his CEL stay solid or blink when he is driving or under full throttle?

Dumb newbie question here. What is a coil pack? How many are there? What do they do and what is there life span? Just trying to learn what to keep an eye out for. Also, what was the name of the shop in Annapolis?

Coil packs are new versions of the distributor and coil. Each cylinder gets it's own coil for sparkin the plugs.
