Bought a GT2
I sold my '01 996tt and bought a '03 GT2. My GT2 is stock. My '01 996tt had stock suspension but GT2-size tires, EVO stage 4 engine and EVO short shift kit. I am surprised how similar both car's suspensions feel. I'm a novice but except for the ground clearance they seem very similar so far. The biggest differences were the 'heavy' clutch in the GT2 and the crisp, short throws in the GT2 shifter, better than my turbo. Power-wise, the GT2 seems a little slower, but not by much?! I sold my turbo locally so we are going to compare side-by-side and video the difference. Well, these are my initial impressions. I put pictures at http://hobbystage.net/porsche/rmr/

The GT2 drives like a true porsche.. tons of turbo boost with rear wheel drive=old school turbo.. I love that.. It can get a bit hairy so go easy..I drove my brothers and went sideways on a hard shift into second gear...fun..!...good luck with it..its awesome

Welcome to the club! Take it a little easy for the first month or so until you get used to the car, but after that they are hell on wheels. Much better steering feed back that the Turbo. Drive it in good health.

I'm glad you finally found a car!
However, I have to assume that you haven't pushed the car much if you think the Turbo and GT2 suspensions are similar.
Take it easy until you get comfortable with the car, and then see the amazing amounts of lateral grip that car has in addition to its overall agility over the Turbo.

Congrats on the new car, I have to say I disagree with your comment about the suspensions feeling alike, I find them to be very different, just alone ground clearance stock lip to stock lip are 2 inches apart.
