Just sold my 2003 996 TT X50 for.........

Just thought I would post up the details on the sale of my 2003 Turbo X50 as a market gauge for everyone. The car was in outstanding condition, loaded with options, and had 29,456 miles. I live in Seattle,WA and got $74,000 from a great Porsche enthusiast living in Portland, OR.

I am sad to see the car go as I had a great time driving and modding it. The depreciation curve was staggering, and I bought the car used from the original owner in January 2005 for $114,000. I probably overpaid initially but I got exactly the car I wanted.

After tallying all of the depreciation, maintenace, insurance, mods, gas, etc, the car cost a whopping $69,714 to drive 21,306 miles over 27 months!...$3.27 per mile for thos of you keeping score at home.

This was my third Porsche and it will certainly not be my last. I've enjoyed this forum greatly and have learned a lot from all. Many thanks!! Attached below are the detals on my car.

I admire your thoroughness, but I've found it's really better not to do calculations like these . . .

so true especially for those of us who tend to flip or continually add to the collection

Sounds like the new owner got a good deal. Really makes me re-think the idea of getting a 05/06 Carrera S and just shoot for a 02 turbo...

I am going to sit on the sideline for a year or so and will probably buy used again next time, maybe a GT3 or Turbo X50 when it comes out. I'm hooked on the brand, just wished the values held up a bit better.

Mexico Blue, I totally agree with you......some calculations are better left undone! Guess I now need to change my signature, don't I?!

I'm thinking about doing the same thing and trying something different such as the GT3. Just waiting till the current owner have gone bored and stepping up to the new GT2 or R8 something.
