Not sure how accurate this is but "The S2000 CR has the same 237-hp, 2.2-liter engine as other S2000s" "The 215/45R-17 front and 255/40R-17 rear tires have a treadwear rating of 140, which means they’re barely able to be called conventional street tires.""The S2000 CR will weigh approximately 2765 pounds, almost 90 pounds less than the regular S2000"

Scott,

I had a SC one for awhile, fun little car as long as you keep it wound-up.

I have had one for 7-1/2 years. Absolutely a blast to drive. Supercharger just makes it more fun as the boost rises.

Is SC'ing the preferred method of FI for those cars? To me, it seems like it would be the best way to keep the feel of stock motor.

For really big numbers - turbo seems to be the choice. To amp the car up a bit and preserving the basic character of the car - s/c is preferred.

The turbo kits IMO are more risky and definitely require a more highly skilled tuner.

Low boost s/c kits are pretty close to plug and play.

Boosting Sidways style is a different matter though.

Why didn't you ever post your Carrera GT kill story here?

Ditto on all the comments...I had a 2004 and was lots of fun on the road as well as autoX and track. If I had the room, I would've kept it and put in a Comptech SC but the 996 turbo got first dibs in the garage Loved driving it like I stole it on the streets and it is not crazy fast so can really use alot of the motor/suspension in everyday driving. Tough to do in 996tt without seriously jeopardizing the driver's license...

Boxster is way more refined in IMHO but the s2k can't be beat for bang for the buck.

I had a s2000.. If you plan on getting one make sure you get the 2004+ s2k even though the redline is lower because that model has more torque... I had mines for auto crossing... Then I got the opportunity for the TT which I gave the s2k for... May consider getting another one down the line...It was a FUN CAR!!!!

Well I'm in the same boat as some of you guys. I currently have my S and soon will be selling it because I bought a "replacement", 04 turbo. I don't want to sell it because I know i'm going to miss it
Here is a pic of my soon to go baby

I have a supercharged S2000. Porsche can certainly learn a few tricks from Honda.

I just bought one three weeks ago and i cant stop driving this thing! My other car (Evo IX w/mods) is supposedly one of the "most fun to drive" cars but it hasnt left the garage since the S2000 came along

I think about 100 more HP would be nice though - Greddy just released a Single Turbo kit for the S2K so i might look into that. Its a low-boost, bolt-on, intercooled kit that is good for about 300rwhp.

Otherwise, i have no complaints with the car.

I, too, have an S2000. I've owned the car for over 6 years and it's still a blast. I had a Vortech s/c on it for a few years. I recently sold the s/c in preparation of selling the s2k, but I think I might keep it for a few more years

If you plan to turbocharge the car, sleeve it and definitely buy forged pistons and rods. I am sure like most other hondas I have owned it comes stock with cast pistons which are a weak point i.e. cracked ring landings, etc. I know that the 04+ comes with a 2.2 liter rather than the f20c (2.0) and I dont think it has fiber reinforced cylinder walls like the 97+ 3.2 liter nsx and the h22's. Oh and remember that the 06+ has a fly by wire as opposed to a throttle cable. Usually fiber reinforced cylinder walls and turbochargers do not get a long and the fiber reinforced walls definitely do not like forged pistons. s2000s are simply a blast to drive, they do leave a little bit to be desired from the power department, but they are still exceptionally fun to drive. Id like one for a track toy!
