Adjustable Toe Links - Camber - Tire Wear Questions

Here is my problem. The car is lowered with PSS9s.

I just got a flat in a canyon at night. It turns out it the right rear tire wore out on the inside within about 2,500 miles, down to the wire, and lost all air.

The left one looks just the same but is holding air.

Both tires have about 6/32" tread in the middle and outside. A new tire only has 9/32".

My camber is adjusted to the least negative possible. I think about -1 degree.

With adjustable tow links I'll be able to do better.

I have two options here. I can buy tires that are directional, not inside - outside specific - and reverse them after 1,200 miles. Or I can put in the adjustable drop links and hope they'll allow me to make the needed adjustment to my rear camber.

How many miles can I get from a set of rear tires with less negative camber and agressive driving and about 650HP?

sounds like you need upper dog-bone links to adjust camber, not the toe link. give mike at awe a call, he has some really nice set with rubber seals, just bought a set from him. great service. pleasant to work with. like the mailman he delivers, fast.

Are your wheels stock? also have you checked the inside liner for rubbing, I have seen this. I have got over 8K on my current set, I'm lowered on KW V3 coilovers. If can help call me 619-977-0832 Joe

the problem is probably not your camber as that is not very much...most likely a toe problem...how long since alignment?

The wheels are 19". It has been a while since the last alignment. Maybe two years.

I just took the car out with the new tires. It drives like $****. PSM kicking in all the time.

I checked the tire temps by hand. The inside is hotter than the rest of the tire. That would indicate that there might be a toe problem.

I had to raise the car last year about 1/4" and did not think I needed an alignment. How can the toe have changed when raising it?

Sounds like an alignment issue. I realign every time I change a tire period... It's cheaper than buying a new one or getting stuck in 2000 miles!

Good luck!
