Gt640 Or Gt700

GT700 - and build the engine.
the difference between the "old" GT700 (stock maf) and "new" GT700 (hitachi maf) is substantial.

Claus out here in CO is selling his GT700 kit too from his GT2 (going with a custom build from Saridea i believe), old setup i think, but these cars have flashed ECU's right, that arent exactly 'swapable'? in which case how do you get the code to run the hardware that is being sold?

I am really liking my new found power!!!
I would bypass teh GT640 as well.
Good luck!

So Marty! What are the differences between Proto's 650hp and 700hp package? If one has opt to Proto's 700hp or GT700 package without modifying engine internal? Will it increase the risk of blown up engine since 700hp is on the limit of factory internal? Tks!

-EVO Billet Diverter Valves
-EVO Proprietary /GIAC GT700 Software
-EVO / Milltek Sport Stainless Steel Exhaust w/ 100 Cell Catalysts
-EVO V-Flow Air Induction System
-EVO 41.5 mm Primary Tube Stainless Steel Headers
-EVO / Sachs Stage 3 Clutch (Can use with Dual Mass Flywheel)
-EVO Silicone Boost Hose Conversion w/ Diverter Valve "F" Hose
-EVO 70mm High Flow Turbo Air Inlet Ducts (plastic)
-EVO Braided and Fire Jacketed Fuel Line Upgrade Kit w/ Fuel Filter Kit, Adapters, Clips
-EVO Modified Fuel Rails
-EVO High Flow Fuel Injectors
Also the flash for a DME is per vin so if you sell a GT700 kit the new buyer would have to pay more than a small fee. They would have to buy the flash.
Also GIAC spent countless hours tuning this kit.
Only an authorized GIAC dealer can do this!
While this forum is a wealth of info I encourage anyone to visit www.evoms.com , www.imagineauto.com or that Sharky guy www.sharkwerks.com

Yeah, if you are coming from a stock car it is pretty much agreed that the GT700 turbos are even more responsive than the stock K16's. Everybody who has had the GT700's have raved about it. It offers the best of both worlds...instant response better than the K16's but more top end than the K24's.

Decisions should be based on YOUR NEEDS
Corrado,
Buddy G is right, I am running low boost with my stock internals and am very
happy. Todd (either one) can set you up and keep you safe.
PE650 vs 700; Protomotive doesnt really have kits per say it is more of a custom build to your specs and needs. I.E. I wanted a my car mapped specifically for pump fuel since that is mostly what I run, straight 93 octane.
I also wanted my car kept quiet. I have the EVOMS style K24 headers and Europipe S2Quiet. (I also have a high boost setting that I have used only used once). If ultimate power was what I was after, then Todd (Knighton)
would have made his custom headers from scratch and custom Mufflers,
ala Markski, and Divexxtreme. I did not feel this necessary. I wanted a torquey street machine that would not have to hide from Z06's and modded
Vipers. Quiet, "stock looking", easy clutch, etc. That is what Todd built me.
I do have a large throttle body, upgraded fuel system, custom intake, Proto
Intercoolers and am poised quite well for "the future" if necessary.
Also, to clarify if someone buys a used GT700 kit you should ABSOLUTELY have EVOMS, IA, or Sharkdog
do your flashing and make it right.
Cheers,
Marty K.
