I was floored when I saw the dealer Black Book and the trade value of a 2001 Turbo...

Hey Bill S, nice to see you on this board.
It's too bad we couldn't compare your 993TT to my Protomotive 996TT, but me thinks that my 996 was quite a bit faster than the Ruf Turbo R. As speeds get higher, the difference would be even more pronounced. Don't get me wrong, I love your car, but I think you underestimate the potential of a 996.
Your car ran away from my M5 like it was standing still, but that Protomotive car would surprise guys riding Yamaha R1's and GSX-R 1000's. The 10.74s quarter at a near 132 trap speed tells only part of the story... those Garretts come into their own when you hit triple digits.
I LOVE my GT2 and I haven't really looked back to much. Maybe a modded 993 would be faster in a straight, but I can assure you that it will never have the refined handling of a GT2. In order to get the kind of handling and overall balanced performance that you get from a GT2, you would have to spend much $$$, and I don't mean $5K.
Look at the times on the Nurburgring... that tells all in this case.
No doubt 993 Turbo S looks awesome, but the GT2 was my personal favorite from the moment I laid eyes on it. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Never really liked the looks of the 996TT.
Hey, are you going up to the Concorso this year?

Hamann7,
Good to hear from you. Did you sell the Protomotive? It would have been fun to compare. I know the Protomotive would be faster. I was curious to see if it would have been 20+ cars lengths ahead by 150 MPH or maybe only 5 or 10.
I also like the GT2. I'm just waiting for Porsches' next V8 or V10 move under $440K. Given what you can do with the 6, imagine what you can do with an 8 or 10? The simple twin turbo Viper 10s are running 150+ under 10 seconds!
We'll probably be at the Concorso (not 100% sure yet). If so, I'll give you a call so we can get together this time!
