What yr did "full leather" and self dimming mirrors become standard?
Title says it all. This may assist me in my search. Sometimes the sellers claim full leather, but I am not sure about this. I thought all the turbos come with full leather standard ('07 does), but I dont think this is the case for the 996TT. Same thing for self dimming mirrors. Also, what year did they start doing SDM on the side mirrors?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It depends on what you consider "full leather" to be.
The 2001 came with "full leather" standard, but just like on the 2002 model, the car could be ordered with either the E70 leather package, or E74 small leather package.
E70 additional leather = Lower instrument panel, trim molding groove for upper dash, side fresh air vents, defroster cover, speaker cover, center air vents, carrier for heather control, frame for A/C, and switch covers and ignition rosette.
E74 = Did not include the side fresh air vents, defroster cover, or speaker cover

Good question, I am not too familiar with the 996. When looking at new 997's the difference between full leather interior and standard leather looks very significant to me. I want something similar to what the full leather look is for the new 997's.
I think the main things are the dash, instument panel, doors...the bulk of it mainly. I dont care for the "pressed" look on the standard 997/cayman interior.
