TXturbo,

It is fun to see the extremes, but that is a $300,000 purpose built
(explicitly for that very event), Aeroed, winged, monster motored undrivable
except at that event, Monster Viper. Really Really fast though.
By the way, I am doing the Tx mile in October (hopefully with Markski!!)

Erik,

Will you continue updating the first post? There is quite some additional info that has been posted. At least the clearly verified ones.

The itsfun one is not verified IMO, altough it's probably near reality.
I was there as well at the same time and brought back a record of my own.
In a Touareg V10 TDI

And a lot of the other times are not verified.
I'm not saying they are slow cars or lying, but if a Viper does 0-220 mph in 24 secs, I still have no clue what the 0-300 km/h is.
I am sure it would be high on the list, but how high?
wirx's time seems to be from the speedo. Only the 1 mile times seems to be verified. Does he hit true 300 km/h on the run? I don't know.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think it's unfair to mix times like the Yellowbird one (we can only gueestimate the real time), wirks' etc. with
"real" 0-300 km/h times.
Let's discuss it, I'm open to suggestions.

Erik, I agree with most. The Yellowbird however needs no guessing, it is clearly a 0-300kph run tested by R&T..

Is there an error on the SL55 time (32.5 sec) b/c that would make the 493hp car only .6 sec slower than the SL65, and faster than the CGT and Ford GT?

Looking at the SL55 Cd of .30 and frontal area of 25.2 sqft, weight approx 4300lbs with driver, the car needs about 360 hp to overcome the drag at 186 mph, and the Z06 (Cd .34, frontal area 22.3 sqft, 3300 lbs) only requires about 350 hp, the 997TT (Cd .31, frontal area 21.9, 3700 lbs) only requires about 324 hp.

It would be nice to include it, but this is all I have:
Speed at 1 mile: 185.8 mph — 4th
Time to 1 mile: 28.6 sec — 7th (tie)

= 298.95 km/h. Have you got anything else? Close but...

Removed. I'm not sure where this test was from and can't find any reference.

Let's keep this list growing and see how big it gets. What are the qualifications - if any (respected) magazine has official figures, it goes on the list?

Yes. If you find new or old times just post in the thread and I will include them.

I'm happy to include GPS based performance computers/accelerometers to measure performance as well, just like the 60-130 mph thread.
And we all like videos as well, but a video alone isn't enough.
Bottom line: it has to be reliable.

Erik, the Yellowbird took 28.6 seconds to get from 0-185.8mph, whereas 300kph is 186.45 mph, I think we can all agree on the 0.6 mph difference and say 29 seconds?

I can work out the exact number for you but I don't think it is worth the time honestly. The YB being the benchmark it is, it would be nice to include it despite the 0.6 mph difference No one ever posts any such RUF datalogs anyway
