the AWD system of a turbo isn't quite like most AWDs
it sends a very small % of torque to the front wheels to pull your out of a nasty situation...

Well, when I first bought my car, I thought I had AWD that would be decent in the snow. I got stuck trying to go up a hill and noticed that only the rear wheels spun. I asked about this on the forum, and they said something about how only 5% of the power goes to the fronts, and I did not have enough grip to transfer more power to the front. Something like that.

SlowMotion is infamous around these parts
A turbo does donuts differently than say a vette... it's because the front tires pull it a little... the Turbo does big donuts!

I saw a video of a 996 Turbo doing donuts on ice/snow and the fronts were most definitely spinning.

Porsche claims 5-40% torque transfer. That's total BS, probably for the better. If 40% of the torque was really going up front, the front tires would spin in the snow for sure.

I can feel the AWD (having taken off the driveshaft for about a year and then re-installing), but this is definitely a RWD car with minimal FW torque.

Definitely looks like it Scott in the first video, he was able to oversteer the car with such ease and control, no way you can do that with awd in the 996tt, well that easily!
