mmmmm is infamous around these parts
My stock x50 sees 0.8 around 4k and .9 around 5-6K in second gear. Never seen 1.0. And I don't see 0.9 all the time.

Assuming no one swapped the turbos on my car, and I'm running K16's with stock exhaust, then I figured that there would be a "standard" or "expected" horsepower increase vs stock. I do understand the limitations of the K16's vs upgrading to K24's from reading the forum but would still openly wonder if there isn't a formula that could essentially predict, albeit somewhat inaccurately, what the HP gain might be. I know that the X50's and Turbo-S cars came set at 1BAR boost from the factory vs the standard 996TT so I don't worry about the boost level with the K16's but was simply wondering what I might be getting vs a COMPLETE stocker, which mine essentialy is. Perhaps I'll have to find a 4 wheel dyno somewhere in Washington State after all. Other comments very welcome.

My car is an 05 Turbo S CAB, doesn't matter how many times and how hard I tried never saw above .8 boost. I was told by everybody I should be seeing 1.0 boost regularly. When I took my car in last week for an A/C problem I had a chat with the service writer and I was told if I boosted above .8 bar I would be over boosting. Basically I am left in between not knowing who to believe!

Stock turbo S should boost between 0.8-0.9 (spike 1.0 maybe) depending on environmental factors. There is plenty of room to boost to 1.2 with no harm
with some mods.

Now I have found a wonderful FVD system.... Thank YOU! to Kevin @ Ultimate Motorwerkes! We'll get that installed and see what the beast REALLY laws down. Previous owner had a factory-new Porsche exhaust reinstalled by a local authorized dealer to replace the "excessively loud" system that was on the car prior to my purchase. $3K later it was quiet.... but he was unaware of that the car had hybrid turbos and an ECU flash! (LOL) so with the HUGE Euro-cats of the FVD system, we'll then get more of the powerband back and the boost peaks should disappear. Porsche in Bellevue, WA plugged the car in and saw zero MAF issues so the spiking (to 1.3/4-BAR) seems to be caused by too much backpressure relative to the ECU settings combined with the hybrid turbos. We'll know more next week. With any luck, the daily driver will only lay down 500hp to the wheels and be pretty much bulletproof from here on out. Now with 15.5K miles on the car.

Indeed... but you know... the aftermarket exhaust plus the aftermarket intake filter system COMBINED with the massive extra boost was an indication of something "a little different" than normal. I had to inform several people about the previous exhaust, too, B/C it looks/sounds like a simple, Arctic Silver car otherwise. Can't wait for the FVD install.

my x50 did .8 bar consistenly pre chip. Post chip i'm consitently 1.1-1.2 bar with the occasional 1.3 spike. Best money spent!

Get ready to turn down the boost. Th exhaust will only make you boost harder.

If you have hybrid turbos I'm thinking you already have upgraded wastegates, it's a must for any X50 car with mods.
