Steve Millen had no seat time in the car other than a few runs. An 80 yr old woman who cant drive a stick could jump into a Veyron and lay down some sub 3 sec 0-60 times. 1001 hp + awd + 7speed DSG auto that never lets off the power and never misses a gear = fast 0-100 mph. A more experienced driver would have gotten the TT Viper to 200 mph in more like 18-19 sec.
The Veyron is an incredible beast and technological marvel. The TT Viper from 3rd gear on up just smokes the Veyron, especially above 100 mph. The Viper is 5 sec. quicker from 100-200 mph and also beats the Veyron by nearly 16 mph in the standing mile. Same test, same driver, same track, same day, same weather.
The Veyron got beat badly any way you look at it. Period.

Nobody wants to beat a record by 1mph. You want to put it on kill and blow people away. The issue thus far is getting 5th gear to live under that power, well that issue has been fixed. I think not only will 230 fall in 07, but a good chance someone will blow the 240 mark.
And yes, I do know a few things most don't.

1100 RWHP will give you traction issues up to 100 mph in any car, so the Veyron will win those battles. You may have more in the Porsche but still not enough to put but half to 3/4 power down until after 80 mph. After that, the weight of the Veyron will own it.

You learn REAL quick how to be smooth and don't try to man handle a car like that. Or you get pimp slapped like a $2 ***** by your car.

Hennesey's Texas Mile Purpose built Viper TT:
The Viper looks like a Cartoon Car and would end up upside down if you
tried a quick turn-in, but boy is that thing bad-*** in a straight line.
It is absolutely "VICIOUS"

Couple of points:
1. The Hennessey Viper would KILL/DESTROY (insert another word) the Veyron in a 60 roll.
2. A 900 rwhp Viper built properly will hook 60 mph roll-ons on STREET tires. Yes, I said street tires. My Viper would hook 60 on 355 wide 19 inch Pirelli's. I'm assuming the Hennessey car is making about the same power, 900-950 rwhp.
3. The Hennessey car had drag radials on it. Given some heat, those puppies will hook 1000+ rwhp on the street on a 60 mph roll-on.
4. If you watch the vid that John posted, it's very obvious that the guy was a beginner in driving a 1000 hp TT Viper. He took forever b/w shifts, and didn't drive the car like someone with experience could have driven it. I agree 100% with John that this car had a 18-19 in it. The Veyron, EASYYYYYYYYY to drive comparitively speaking.
Just my 0.02
