If you read the article the Veyron out accelerates the Viper up to 145 mph due mainly to lack of traction for the Viper. The Veyron with AWD and launch control can put all the power to the ground from the start. The Viper has to ramp up boost due to traction issues.

That is why if I build a 1000 hp plus tt in the future I will keep AWD.

the veyron would most likely smoke that viper in a real world 50-60mph roll on.

A RWD TT with the right tires will have essentially as much traction as a Veyron, Buddy. You can't accurately compare your average front-engined, RWD car (like the Viper), to a rear-engine, RWD Porsche. The traction difference between the two cars is monumental.

Plus...the Veyron's rear tires are absolutely huge. 365, and custom made for that car. 90%+ of it's traction is coming from those babies alone.

Great post by the way. The poor RT-12 got smoked.

The Veyron went 100-200 mph in 18 seconds. The Viper did it in 13. I think the Viper would kill the Veyron from pretty much any roll-on speed.

Scott,

You are correct a rear engined tt has weigh better traction then the front engine Viper. Question for you with your car at 1.5 bars from a dead stop can you get traction or do you have to ease on the throttle? I know you aren't going to dump the clutch from a dead stop at least I wouldn't. Just curious if you have any traction issues at lower speeds?

Good point Tom it would probably need to be modded. When is your beast going to be done and what hp are you trying to reach?

Sure...traction can be an issue at low speeds...but much less than you might guess. Nothing as bad as a Supra, 'vette or Viper has.

I think it would hook enough to slaughter the Veyron up to 130. And of course the faster they went..the worse the slaughter would be.
